Trust is implicit in every relationship. No matter what level. If you don't have trust—earned trust—there is no future. Not only is there no future, but there is no possibility of earning this trust back.
We all have our quirks and idiosyncrasies but being deceptive is not a quirk. It's amoral. Amoral is different than immoral. In fact, to be amoral is far worse and usually is associated with what we consider to criminal or a sociopathic behavior.
I have no authority about what is or is not right and wrong. And I don't proclaim any moral high ground. But, I've seen this happen to good people too many times to not nail this to the wall.
You can always spot this behavior in this sordid type. This type can't look you in the eye. They always have something better to do. And they are quick to put you down, and don't look you in the eye when they shake your hand... you know the type... the type that always says, "Trust me."
Yes, there is good in everyone. Yes, everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. . . but . . .
I'm just not sure you can turn a liar into a person of integrity... This is just my experience, anyway. Don't say I didn't warn you. :)
